HTE-610W Low Voltage Detector

HASEGAWA HTE-610W is a pocket-sized pen-type low voltage detector. On AC 50 V – 1000 V installations it detects the presence of voltage when touched against the conductor's insulation and signals it with an intermittent red light and an intermittent tone. It is an everyday check tool for maintenance electricians, panel builders, installers and factory maintenance teams.

Manufactured in Japan by Hasegawa Electric, the detector is supplied as a genuine HASEGAWA product by HASEGAWA Türkiye, the official distributor in Türkiye. It weighs just 22 g including batteries; with impulse withstand equivalent to IEC 61010-1 CAT III 1000 V and adjustable sensitivity, it can be used both on building wiring and in industrial control panels.

Where is it used?

• Panel and wiring checks: To see quickly whether a cable is live before replacing a fuse, checking terminal tightness or isolating a circuit.
• Detection through insulated cable: The contact tip is placed against the cable sheath; no bare-conductor contact is needed, so cables can be checked without stripping.
• Fault finding: To narrow down a broken phase, a socket circuit that has not been de-energised or a wrongly labelled feeder on site.
• Noisy or brightly lit areas: A light visible at 8000 lx and a tone of at least 50 dB at 30 cm keep the indication readable on construction sites and production floors.

Sensitivity can be adjusted so that the detector responds at AC 40 V or below at the highest setting, and at the lowest setting does not respond at AC 100 V but responds at AC 200 V.

Both models offer the same detection performance; the only difference is the light. If you work inside dark panels or ceiling voids, the HTE-610WL with its built-in LED torch makes the job easier; in daylight and well-lit facilities the HTE-610W is sufficient.

Limits of use and safety

The HTE-610W is for AC low voltage only; it must not be used on DC circuits or on systems above 1000 V. In medium-voltage switchgear, a suitable medium / low voltage detector should be selected. Before every use, test the detector on a source known to be live, then take the measurement and check again. Voltage may not be detected on shielded (screened) cables or on conductors inside metal conduit; the absence of an alarm does not on its own mean that the circuit is dead.
