HSN-6A2 Medium / Low Voltage Detector

HASEGAWA HSN-6A2 is a medium / low voltage detector recommended in particular for withstand voltage tests. According to the manufacturer's data, it can be used up to AC 10.5 kV and DC 21 kV in withstand voltage tests only. This makes it suited to test teams and laboratories carrying out tests on cables, switchgear and panels.

Because DC and AC test voltages can both be present in a test area, choosing a detector for this work is different from an ordinary field check. The HSN-6A2 is made in Japan and supplied as a genuine HASEGAWA product by HASEGAWA Türkiye, the official distributor in Türkiye.

Where is it used?

• MV cable commissioning tests: Checking the voltage status at the test point during withstand (hipot) tests on newly laid or jointed cables.
• Panel and switchgear manufacturers: Checking the unit under test during factory routine tests and customer acceptance tests.
• Test and calibration laboratories: As the check step before approaching the specimen at the end of a test, in areas where AC and DC test sets are used.

If you work in a test laboratory or cable testing environment, the HSN-6A2 is the recommended model for the job. For routine voltage checks on 600 V – 7000 V AC/DC systems in operation, the HST-1.5N is more suitable.

Limits of use and safety

The AC 10.5 kV / DC 21 kV values apply to withstand voltage tests only. Please confirm with us before ordering which voltage class it can be used on in operational networks. As shown in the usage drawing, the finger must be on the name plate during measurement, even when rubber gloves are worn.

After a DC withstand test, cables and capacitive specimens can retain a charge; once the test set has been switched off, the specimen should be discharged with a discharge stick and earthed.
