HASEGAWA HSE-7G is a handheld medium / low voltage detector for networks from low voltage up to 7 kV. Operating from AC 60 V – 7000 V, it weighs approx. 55 g and is easily carried in a pocket. It is recommended in particular for telecom crews working on utility poles and for distribution network maintenance staff.
The HSE-7G's threshold values are defined as 60 V for low voltage and 400 V for high voltage on bare conductors; on insulated conductors such as φ5 mm OE wire it responds at 3000 V. HASEGAWA Türkiye, the official distributor in Türkiye, supplies this Japanese-made model as a genuine HASEGAWA product with a commercial invoice.
For telecom crews, the main risk when sharing a pole with power conductors is voltage passing to metal fittings from a line with damaged insulation. The HSE-7G makes these checks possible in the palm of the hand, without a long hot stick.
| HSE-7G | HSF-11 | |
|---|---|---|
| Operating voltage | AC 60 V – 7000 V | AC 80 V – 11.4 kV |
| Low-voltage threshold | 60 V on bare conductor | 65 V ± 15 V on bare conductor |
| High-voltage threshold | 400 V on bare conductor | 2000 V ± 200 V on bare conductor |
| Insulated conductor | 3000 V through φ5 mm OE wire | Bare conductors only |
| Dielectric strength | 20 kV, 1 minute | 20 kV, 1 minute |
| Battery | 2 × LR44 (1.5 V) | 2 × R03 (1.5 V) |
| Weight | Approx. 55 g | Approx. 150 g |
If you need a lightweight instrument for networks up to 7 kV that can also respond through insulated cable, the HSE-7G is suitable. For bare conductors up to 11.4 kV, the HSF-11, with defined visual and audible indication, is the better choice.
The HSE-7G is a handheld instrument, so the distance to the conductor is limited by the user's reach. Medium-voltage conductors must only be approached by authorised personnel, in line with the minimum approach distances set by applicable regulations and company procedures. For work that requires reach, use hot stick high voltage detectors. Insulating gloves and suitable PPE are mandatory during work. Before use, confirm that the detector works correctly with a suitable voltage detector tester or a known live source. It must not be used on systems above 7000 V.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, to a limited extent. According to the specification, it starts responding at 3000 V through φ5 mm OE wire. At lower voltages, contact with a bare conductor is required.
Its weight of approx. 55 g and a detection range starting at AC 60 V mean it can be carried in a pocket on the pole. It is a practical solution for checking stray voltage on poles shared with power lines.
With 2 × LR44 (1.5 V) batteries it gives approx. 3 hours of continuous use; when stored unused, the batteries last approx. 2 years.
The price of the HASEGAWA HSE-7G Medium / Low Voltage Detector depends on quantity, delivery country and project. Send the quote form or a WhatsApp message to get the current price and lead time, usually the same business day.
