HASEGAWA
Universal earthing sets for switchgear cubicles, panels and HV consumer installations; Type H, HA-W, HC and HF differ in cable cross-section, stick and earth spike options.

4 products
A cubicle earthing set connects the de-energised busbars in medium-voltage cubicles and high-voltage consumer installations to each other and to earth via three phase leads, creating a temporary safety zone for the duration of maintenance. If the circuit is accidentally re-energised or a voltage is induced, the current flows to earth through the set's cables instead of through personnel. DSOs, substation operators and industrial companies with MV consumer installations are the main users.
All four HASEGAWA sets in this group use insulated rubber clips at the phase ends. What distinguishes them is the phase cable cross-section, the length of the earth lead, the insulating stick and the earth spike.
| Model | Key feature | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Type H | Standard model; 3 × 22 mm² × 1.2 m phase leads, 8 mm² × 5 m earth lead; 3.5 kg | General use in cubicles and HV consumer installations |
| Type HA-W | Improved version of Type H; 572 mm insulating stick; 4.5 kg | Reaching busbars in deep cubicles |
| Type HC | 14 mm² phase leads; lighter set | Jobs where ease of carrying matters |
| Type HF | 8 mm² × 15 m earth lead; driven earth spike | Installations where the earthing point is far away |
The suitability of the sets for the voltage level and short-circuit current of the installation is confirmed at the quotation stage based on your installation data.
The set is fitted only after the circuit-breaker and disconnector have been opened and the absence of voltage has been verified with a suitable voltage detector. The earth lead is connected to the installation's earthing point first and the phase clips are attached last; when removing, the earth connection is disconnected last. A set with a torn rubber clip, a crushed cable or broken strands must be taken out of service.
For transmission lines and other equipment see earthing equipment; for the basic rules see our article Earthing Sets: Key Rules for Safe Work on Power Lines.
Sets such as Type HA-W clip onto the existing earthing point in the cubicle and do not include an earth spike. Where the earthing point is far away, the Type HF, supplied with a 15 m earth lead and a driven earth spike, can be considered.
In the event of accidental energisation, the cables carry the current to earth. The cross-section must therefore be assessed against the short-circuit current of the installation; the set must not be used without this assessment.
